Charlotte, NC Wedding Photographers: Leslie Alford Mim's House Wedding (Holly Springs, NC)

Kelsey and Zack

We didn't get to meet Kelsey and Zack until their wedding day, but I felt like I had already known them. Kelsey and I had several conversations prior, and something that always stood out to me was how excited she was about her wedding day and the vision of the day coming together. We seriously have such similar taste, that I knew it would be easy for me to capture the day the way that Kelsey had envisioned.

The day started out sunny and bright, but of course in true Carolina fashion, lots of humidity. I am always one to keep an eye on the forecast, so I was checking the weather pretty often to make sure we were getting what we needed before the rain came. While we were taking bride and groom photos after the ceremony, I saw a large dark cloud coming quickly and knew that our time was short. We went as fast as we could to get as many portraits in before the rain came, and sure enough it started to come down.

We went inside to escape the rain and decided to shoot some moody portraits, since there are so many good locations inside! I would say that the rain came at a perfect time. We had finished all the other pictures we needed, and were able to have some quiet time of portraits with the couple, away from all of their guests. We even had a rainbow show up during the reception, and the evening ended beautifully!

Enjoy just a few of our favorites from Zack and Kelsey's wedding day!

Anniversary Session at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden

Ever think about doing an Anniversary session? Well this session might leave you wanting to get dressed back up in your wedding attire for an anniversary session. Emi contacted me a few months ago, asking if we would be able to do an anniversary session with her and Hunter, and of course we said yes! Their style and connection is something fierce, and we loved getting to take these portraits of them.

We love anniversary sessions, but this one is great because they got dressed back up again, and it was such a fun time talking about their wedding day with them as we walked around Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens.

Enjoy a few of our favorites, and if you ever have any questions about booking an anniversary session. please feel free to shoot me an email at

Charlotte Wedding Photographers: A Neutral Springtime WinMock Wedding

Kailey and Tyler

Kailey and Tyler's wedding day could not have been more perfect. With the beautiful setting WinMock at Kinderton has to offer, and the love these two share, it was definitely a picture perfect day. Those who know me, know that I love neutrals, so when Kailey told me her wedding was going to be neutral tones, I was pretty excited! There are some clients that you work with that feel meant to be, and you have more commonality with each other. Kailey was definitely an ideal client for me, and I loved getting the chance to work with her over this past year. She is the type of person that knows exactly what she wants and goes for it, and I thought she couldn't have done a better job planning her day!

Both families, wedding party, (and Kailey and Tyler of course!) were such a joy to be around and so much fun to capture. Enjoy looking through some of our favorites from Kailey and Tyler's wedding day at WinMock at Kinderton- and don't forget to watch their film at the end!

Charlotte Wedding photographers: Daniel Stowe Botanical Brunch Garden Wedding

Justine and Brandon's brunch wedding at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden was such a special one! These two kept their wedding fairly intimate with just their closest friends and family, and decided to have their ceremony at 11am. This was our first brunch wedding, and can I just say we LOVED it! I felt so energized the whole day- mainly because my best working time is 10-2, so this fit right in that time!

They celebrated with an outdoor ceremony in the beautiful gardens, and the weather was perfect!  The spring weather here in NC can be crazy sometimes, and actually has been lately, but thankfully the day was perfect for our sweet couple! They had a traditional reception with dancing, cake cutting, and toasts, and then had a small Chinese Tea Ceremony with Justine's family.

I so appreciate how trusting and appreciative Justine and Brandon were. They greeted us with a gift right when we got there, and through this whole process truly trusted us to guide them and choose the best locations for pictures.

Also, a huge shoutout to Kayla and her team from Clockwork Events and Design on executing such a stunning wedding for Justine and Brandon. Kayla works so hard to bring her clients' vision to life, and I so appreciate her and her willingness to serve her clients well!

Romantic Farmhouse Wedding (Charlotte Film Photographers)

Andrew and Lauren were married on September 16, 2017 on Lauren's family's property in Lincolnton, just outside of Charlotte, NC. Lauren's family worked hard on transforming their backyard into the perfect wedding venue, by landscaping and building a new barn perfect for the theme of the wedding.

Now let's talk about Jennifer, Lauren's mom, and her design skills. Her home is charming and beautiful, full of natural light and stunning decor. It literally looks as if Joanna Gaines herself lived there. We felt like it was Christmas morning shooting details and getting ready photos in such a great space. I even told her mom at one point, that their home was a dream venue, even though it's not even a wedding venue!

The details and decor were minimal, with neutral colors and potted centerpieces- they matched not only the style of the couple perfectly, but also their surroundings. The girls wore champaign colored gowns and the guys wore mismatched navy suits. Love and Honey Weddings did an amazing job putting together the table settings, ceremony site, and overall making sure the day ran smoothly.

Both wedding parties and families were great to work with, and so much fun! There was definitely plenty of laughter and love shared throughout the day. Andrew and Lauren, I am beyond happy for the two of you, and wish you well in Atlanta as you begin married life! xoxo

Firethorne Country Club Wedding (Charlotte, NC)

Hannah and Nathan

Hannah and Nathan's wedding day was one of our first cooler days of autumn, and that was just one of the things we loved about their day. As photographers, a lot of time our schedule is rushed, the lighting isn't always perfect, the family is panicked and we have to handle it, the list goes on...  but this wedding had none of that. Both wedding parties were so sweet, the families genuinely cared for the bride and groom and wanted their best throughout the day, the light was PERFECT and it made our job SO SO easy. We don't take that lightly, because there are only a few wedding every year that we can look back on and say nothing went wrong.

I say all that to say, thank you to Hannah and Nathan for trusting us. Thank you to your family and friends for making our job so much easier. Thank you to Firethorne Country Club and all the staff that truly made their day exceptional, and thank you Lord for the beautiful weather where we didn't sweat off all our makeup!

We like to brag and say we have the best couples, and you will hear us say it again and again, because it's just true! We love weddings that remind us of why we decided to take the leap with this business in the first place and why we love what we do.. (believe it or not, we sometimes need that reminder! :) )

Now enjoy looking through some of our favorites from Hannah and Nathan's big day!
